From oral passage to fine printed pages in a book, stories of human existence are documented in a variety of forms.  My practice explores how spaces take on the stories of its inhabitants. I am interested in the idea that spaces act as digestive systems that de-construct life and absorb moments from the past.  In this sense, my paintings investigate how spaces take on a life of their own and become storytellers that hint at the people they once knew. I am fascinated with highlighting psychological elements of the human condition by denying their presence in my work. My paintings describe derelict perspectives that are chaotically filled with redundant appliances and mementos of a deteriorating phenomenology. There is no sense of life but that which is left behind. I’ve been enhancing the feeling of decadence by expanding my process to encompass carpet collage and creating wall-based sculptures from materials of habitual routine.  My work references classical vehicles of display by challenging preconceptions of framing and warping perspectives of creative platforms within society.  By focusing on digestive elements of perspectives, I am intrigued how the ephemeral nature of indoor spaces can develop into wisdom and sublimation of character.
